The event will take place from 7:00-8:30pm at the Baraboo First Church of the Nazarene at 1800 Crawford St. on the north side of Baraboo. \nGuest speakers for the evening are Rhea Newman\, CSW\, of Catholic Charities of Wisconsin\, talking about “The Option of Adoption\,” and Bill & Tammy Johnson of Baraboo speaking about “The Ups and Downs of Being a Foster Parent.” \nRhea Newman\, CSW\, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Viterbo University and is a Certified Social Worker in the state of Wisconsin. She started her career as a Volunteer Coordinator for the CASA for Kids Program\, an advocacy program for children who are in the child welfare system due to abuse and neglect. She joined Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse almost 15 years ago as a Pregnancy Support and Adoption Social Worker. Rhea works with individuals facing unplanned pregnancies and helps families grow through domestic and international adoption. \nBill & Tammy Johnson live in rural Baraboo with their six younger children which they fostered to adoption. They also have three adult birth children. Bill & Tammy will share their amazing story from their decision to begin treatment foster care\, to taking in six foster children (ages 1-5) in 2-1/2 years\, to eventual adoption of all of them. Bill summarizes their experience as foster care parents as\, “It has not been easy\, but it has been good.” \nFollowing the presentations by the speakers\, there will be a short Q&A time so attendees can get more information on these topics. The evening will end with a short awards presentation.
