Wisconsin Right to Life Praises the State Legislature for Protecting Life

Today in a special session, the Wisconsin State Legislature once again rejected Governor Evers’ calls to create a pathway to repeal Wisconsin’s abortion ban, Statute 940.04. 

940.04, which includes exceptions for medical emergencies and life of the mother, has already faced a direct legal challenge by Governor Evers and Attorney General Josh Kaul.  

Gracie Skogman, Wisconsin Right to Life’s legislative/PAC director responded, “Today the legislature refused to cave to the Governor’s political theater and his ongoing attacks against Wisconsin’s lifesaving law.” 

Skogman continued, “Instead of fixating on repealing 940.04, we invite Governor Evers to join us at a local pregnancy help center to see what the pro-life movement is really about: meeting women with empathy, compassion, and the real resources they need to choose life for their preborn children.”
