McCain Continues to Stress Right-to-Life Voting Record

It is getting redundant but important to continue to state over and over again the stark contrast between McCain and Obama on abortion. Courting Catholic voters in Pennsylvania, McCain met with prominent right-to-life Catholic leaders last week and staunchly touted his strong voting record of 25 years in defense of unborn children.

McCain was reported as saying: “the noblest words ever written” were “the inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” McCain added that he strongly and adamantly believes those words apply to unborn children.

You gotta love Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life who told the assembled group he prayed that the “Lord would let all Christians know they are still His sons and daughters when they are in the voting booth” Take that, IRS.

McCain himself referred to the stark contrast between himself and Obama, citing Obama’s support for partial-birth abortion and Obama’s votes as an Illinois senator to ensure that even babies who survive abortion attempts would have no protection.

On the question of judges, McCain solidly supports the appointment of judicial nominees who will interpret the law rather than create new laws from the bench, overriding the will of the people. Obama, of course, would ask for a blood oath from any nominee that he/she would vote for continuation of abortion on demand.

Here’s the endorsement tally: McCain has picked up the endorsement of the National Right to Life Committee and Wisconsin Right to Life. NARAL and Emily’s list are backing Obama with Planned Parenthood soon to follow. Seems pretty clear who we should support.
