WRTL Responds to Dr. Kristin Lyerly’s Congressional Bid

Today Dr. Kristin Lyerly announced she is running for the 8th Congressional District seat. Lyerly believes the overturning of Roe v. Wade has caused the country to “suffer… From lack of ability to make our own personal health care decisions.”  

Dr. Lyerly was also one of three doctors who joined WI Attorney General Josh Kaul in challenging Wisconsin’s pre-Roe pro-life law, statute 940.04, in court. Recently, she moderated a roundtable with Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra on restoring abortion access in Wisconsin.  

Heather Weininger, Wisconsin Right to Life’s Executive Director, responded, “It is clear that Dr. Lyerly is not truly concerned with providing healthcare and support to women and their preborn children. Dr. Lyerly has spent her career taking the lives of the unborn and offering women false hope that abortion is part of reproductive healthcare. Women in our state deserve better than the lies of the abortion industry, and Wisconsin needs elected officials who protect all life, including preborn life.”
