McCain Endorsement by WRTL-PAC Garners National Attention

The Associated Press has released a story entitled: “Anti-abortion group that battled McCain backs him.” Written by reporter Ryan J. Foley , the story was picked up and published today by numerous media outlets across the country.

The focus of the story is the lawsuit filed by Wisconsin Right to Life in2004 pitting our organization squarely against McCain on the issue of free speech rights. Foley questioned why WRTL could turn around and endorse McCain after successfully defeating him in court.

Our WRTL President, Dan Pilon, told Foley that “….once you have a fight, it’s over and done and you forget about it.” I pointed out that “in terms of the endorsement, what we had to look at is, what is the record of McCain in comparison to Obama? The difference is incredibly stark.” This, of course, refers to their respective positions on abortion.

Wisconsin Right to Life is disseminating information using every vehicle available to let people know that Obama’s radical abortion position would truly make him the unprecedented abortion president. McCain, on the other hand, has a sterling 25-year voting record in opposition to abortion.
