The Goal is Zero Abortions at the Madison Surgery Center

Last night, Wisconsin Right to Life sponsored an event at the Inn on the Park in Madison that featured former late-term abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino and popular talk-show host Vicki McKenna. The focus of the event was the late-term abortion center in Madison that is planned to open at the Madison Surgery Center.

The depth of opposition to the clinic was evident in the packed room filled with concerned people who came to find out what they can do about the clinic. You could have heard a pin drop as Dr. Levatino described how late-term abortions are done and detailed his incredible journey from late-term abortionist to a renowned and respected speaker for the cause of human life.

Thanks to the tremendous involvement of thousands of people, like the people in the room last night, the center has yet to perform a single abortion. The goal of our activities and that of other organizations is to ensure that the number of abortions at the Madison Surgery Center remains at zero!

Tens of thousands of people have already signed petitions protesting the late-term abortion plan. Numerous current and prospective patients have changed their appointments and even their health care away from the Madison Surgery Center and the UW health care system.

Last night, Wisconsin Right to Life announced the continuation or initiation of key three actions that will greatly contribute to the goal of zero abortions at the Madison Surgery Center.

1. The Wisconsin Right to Life Education Fund will be placing three half-page newspaper ads in the Wisconsin State Journal to keep the issue before the public. The first ad is geared toward asking patients to say “NO” to medical treatment at the Madison Surgery Center. The second ad concentrates on the psychological impact of dismemberment abortions on those who participate in them. The third ad focuses on what UW officials don’t want the public to know about the proposed late-term abortion center.

If you’d like to contribute toward the cost of the ads, click here and choose the “Education Fund” option to make your tax deductible contribution.

2. Vigil for Life is scheduling picketers to have a constant presence at the Madison Surgery Center. To volunteer to take a monthly or weekly shift, contact Steve at steve@vigilforlife.org

3. See and download the patient letter here. Fill it out and send to the UW health system telling them you will not receive current or future health care services at their facilities. Contact information is provided.

We must continue to put pressure on UW officials to prevent the late-term abortion center from becoming a stark and horrendous reality! Join us in the battle!
