  • Blog

Listen up, residents of the 8th State Senate district!

Democrat Sheldon Wasserman is challenging Republican incumbent Senator Alberta Darling in the most watched State Senate race in the state. (the 8th State Senate district includes Milwaukee’s North Shore communities, Mequon-Thiensville, Menomonee Falls, Richfield, Germantown).Wasserman has been in the State Assembly since 1994 and it is no exaggeration to say he has chalked up the most radical pro-abortion voting record possible! Here are the “highlights.”

  • Wasserman calls the pro-life movement the “Islamic Jihad of Wisconsin.” (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 6/22/03)
  • Voted against protecting a woman from being forced to have an abortion. (2007 AB 427)
  • Voted in favor of human cloning. (2005 AB 499). Wasserman was quoted as saying “an outright ban on cloning would hurt infertile couples who may want to use cloning to have their own children…” (Associated Press, 5/20/03)
  • Voted against restoring parental consent before a minor’s abortion. (2005 AB 175, 1999 AB 312)
  • Voted to allow the sale of body parts from aborted babies. (1999 AB 808)
  • Voted against a ban on partial-birth abortions. (2007 AB 175, 1997 AB 220)
  • Voted against recognizing an unborn baby as a separate victim. (1999 AB 221, 1995 AB 146). A 2008 Oconomowoc car accident killed a mother, one of her children and her unborn baby. The driver of the car is being charged with three homicides. Wasserman voted to only allow charges for two homicides, excluding the unborn child.
  • Voted against giving a woman seeking abortion full information with a 24-hour reflection period. (1995 AB 441)
  • Voted in favor of taxpayer funding of abortion-related activities. (2001 AB 831)

Sheldon Wasserman’s views on abortion are too radical for the people of the 8th State Senate District! Spread the word!
